Quest for the dawn…

Friday night 00:35 Hrs… preeji, deepu, thoma and i…

@home img_0006.jpg img_0005.jpg

after a small worship session at home we decide to head off to the hills… its drizzling.. we are all tired from a whole week’s work… and the wind has a fresh chill… and once on the bikes – our spines generating adrenaline for every moment… we worship during the ride… in parts :) ..

dsc07463.jpg dsc07462.jpg

4 guys and 2 bikes…

we reach infotech park phase 1.. and take a diversion from tata tech… towards paud… preeji has “heard” its a good track… we obey…

dsc07464.jpg dsc07467.jpg dsc07474.jpg

fantastic patches along the way.. and its pitch dark…

we stop to know how it feels without the bikes light on and we heard a stream by the road… we could hardly see anything … time to pee.. wow man…

img_0026.jpg img_0027.jpg img_0028.jpg

where are we going?? is that a question worth asking?? well maybe because we really did not want to go to any specific place… prolly we only knew too less… or we really din care…

whatever…

we take the straight road… we still are going parallel to the city outskirts .. so its not very scary yet…

and then comes this fantastic bridge lit up by the night, just enough… just couldn’t resist singing out loud…

dsc07472.jpg

dsc07473.jpg img_0029.jpg

all we could capture in the dim light was the froth .. after a while we move on…

the ride is now through some industrial area… chemical factories all around… the chill is now even better… every breath refreshing… sleep trying hard to slow us, suspense driving us to the next curve….

its the state highway 60…. and we go awwhh… we continue..

we reach a small village sorta place… with some shops… thoma thinks this is the turn to mulshi… we are interested and we take the right turn…

its awesome now… sugarcane fields on both sides… and we are in between two parallel hill ranges… on flat ground… its scary, narrow, and thoma looks for the correct right turn which would finally take us to mulshi…

we never reached mulshi… we took 5-6 right turns on the way only to come back from the top… because those roads went nowhere…. but the fun was worth it…

decision to take rest… where??? we can see a path to a resort.. but thats just plain boring… preeji thinks there was a waiting shed at a bus stop… oh yeah… why not…

img_0033.jpg img_0037.jpg img_0034.jpg

this place is dark… but fits the plan… a small check for reptilian hints and we are in…

img_0042.jpg

img_0043.jpg img_0054.jpg img_0052.jpg

we could hear streams right behind us… and it was serene… basic yet serene…

but then there were writings on one wall in red.. not very soothing…

img_0055.jpg

soon we get up and head off to take that correct right turn for mulshi… we try and try and give up at 4:30… decision taken to go back to the bus shed and wait for the dawn… we now wanted to see God light up a fantastic location… atleast now we knew what we were looking for…

back in the shed, the wind cools us for the next one hour and it passes like a small moment…

img_0063.jpg img_0061.jpg

there it is !!! … a sense , a hint of light breaking slowly but surely…

we jump out … find a way towards the stream and sit there… its still dark… our point and shoot cameras still return black images… but what we see is just a work of art, what we hear is the most beautiful arrangement of sound… birds announce the arrival..

img_0064.jpg

the waters just keep going as a single entity..

img_0069.jpg

it reminded the way Christ views us as a church, his people … moving together… as one… in one direction… with urgency and calmness…

we all were infact one too in that quest for watching the miracle called daybreak…

dsc07477.jpg

as the drizzle drenched us we all were individually talking to God and just were struck by the majesty that He so truly is…

img_0070.jpg

img_0065.jpg

i loved the conversation… quiet, instructional… the presence was so thick…

what followed is indescribable… a miracle… a master’s stroke… that he repeats every morning… we finally saw the lush green surroundings, there was light…

the hill still was shy… mist wont let go that peak’s beauty so easily…

the towering trees reflected their longevity, they held the earth against the stream… every single object was so in equilibrium…. every single creation crying out the glory of its creator… breathtaking… God was now speaking in volumes… overwhelming amounts of His majesty… the way He likes to do it… in absolute grace…

its impossible to describe what the experience was in words… perhaps you are not too far from a similar experience… He likes to do this wonder every morning…

God bless you….

LOLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Man you guys………!!!!!!!!!!!! I was LAUGHIN ma way to glory sittin here reading ur mails… I shifted to this new cube n these gals might be thinking this is the kinda guy I am… nice image huh? ;-)

I;ve by God’s Grace neva been injured on this bike…. N I’v fallen only twice, once on water (with Nik behind me) n once on oil. Hehe… I think it’s the result of me always prayin for protection especially in the past… once I was kinda thinking, y shud I keep prayin for protection all the time when I canjus do it once “so I said, God protect me everytime I m ridin …” (but I still pray in for protection once in a while now ;-) (secret secret)) Bout the bulb goin off again thingy, I gave ma bike to maddy one night n I got it back without the headlights workin, so… so I thought I’ll tell Theo bout it n he’ll get it fixed like he did last time ;-D but I neva thought that he’ll hv to end up payin 1600 for it :-p Theo baby, did u go to the dentist?

From: Samuel, Nikhil

Dude without exaggeration this is the most hilarious write-up I have read in recent times… oh dude.. Fantastic… Don’t be so sympathetic (I am sure you are not) about a bike that caused you an accident… not because it belonged to somebody … J I have had my share of injuries from that bike… trying to explain what happened would be too much for me… Bon… time to shed off some emotion J

Hello ppl,

quite a nice conversation you guys are havin..

Boney! I wholeheartedly thank you for the introduction.

Nikhil! I’m really happy that you are very proud to be my roomie.

It gives me immense pleasure & Body pain in telling you that I wasn’t proving anything to anybody. It was wen I was totally alone. It was a total Mishap.

Like I told u I hit his left front And in an angle where his leg was saved but His bike dint.

He has a big dent and a broken headlight and lots more which I couldn’t figure out in the middle of the nite. Anyways the scene dates back to Sunday, the 5th of August 01:00 am.

I was writing down the dorabjee road with No headlights (All respects to Mr. Boney George who couldn’t fix his own headlight so I did it for him on saturday, last weekend and he stil managed to make sure it dint work the next time I met him).

A guy on an activa took a turn N it was immediate and I was too close to even think of stopping. Hmmm… So i went Bham! and the next moment I knew I was thrown forward from the bike. Flew over 5 to 10 metres and l rolled over on my left elbow and went over.

The same moment wen I turned to see what damage had happened I could see the helmet of my Rival ;-) rolllin to the edge of the road. Even in all the pain, this thought struck me. “If a helmet rolls away from you during an accident, why do people wear one?”. i patted myself good thought and got up and dint kno wer all I was hurt but I could hear the dude Standing upright and shoutin ” Abe aulad!”… I was like “sorry, sorry”. Couldn’t think of what I should be sayin. Had this thought that He mite walk up and give me one nice rap. So I was tryin to pick a Westside bag which was now in 2 peices with a million holes in the larger piece…Boney’s bike was still sleeping on the road when this was happening. People had gathered and were helping his bike n boney’s bike up and parked Boney’s bike. Then they saw tat his bike was a total damage. So they tried startin his bike and luckily it started but again I thought it was my bike that they started cos It was so loud for the silencer was sure not in the right condition.

I had been seated on the kerb. And was wantin to take my bike and run away before I was beaten up by those guys. They wud anyways think it was my mistake. They wudn reason Cos he was the elder one. Then this walked to me and said “hospital le janeka kya?” I said “Nahi. Bilkul theek hoon”. Then he said ” Unko kya bolen? Woh thoda aged hai na. Aur aab ko kya bolen aap bhi mere age ke ho. age kya hai?” . “21″. He continued ” nahi Phir tho mujhse do saal chote ho” :-s….. Nice conversation tho… And yeah not to foget . My phone kept ringing like crazy from the min i got up till the min I was havin this conversation. :-/…. my fren kept callin me to wish me “HAPPY FRIENDSHIP DAY”:-s…. I dint pick of course(spoke to her later)… I was patiently waitin for the rap that i was expecting… But nothing came.. Then he started his bike and went ahead… I sat on my bike, adjusted the things on my lap and started the bike and overtook him on my way to Boney’s place. His bike was too damaged to go faster than 10 or 20 i believe… Till I reached Boney’s place I had this feeling that He mite follow me and bang me up in the dark streets…. :-D … Luckily no shadower he was!

Aftermath:

I couldn’t sleep all through the nite… Kept turnin and shifting painfully…. :-)

Benefits:

A bruised left elbow, a bruised right knee, bruised left ass and painful left hip bone.

This is how the story ends :-)

Hope you guys liked it? What rating on a scale of 5 would you give this scene?

Regards,

Theo! ;-)

Snap 1 shows how Theo is able to bend the pipe which houses the shock absorber. His talent is so great that he was not only able to bend the pipe but he made sure that only the one on the right got bent n the othe one stayed intact (hopefully). Snap 2 shows how Theo was able to bend the mud guard in such a way that he made sure that the tyre would scrape on it n lose some of its skin. Snap 3 shows how Theo tried to prove that I could join the circus by makin me ride with the handle pointed towards the left in order to ride straight. Snap 4 shows a confused headlight, confused because the tyre points to one side, the mud guard to another, and the right part of the crash guard to completely the opposite direction.

Hats off to Mister Theophilus Daniel J
